#1271 assigned feature-request

Multi-user extension

Reported by: kinda cute Owned by: Damien Churchill
Priority: major Milestone: 2.x
Component: Web UI Version: other (please specify)
Keywords: multiuser group Cc:

Description

Is it possible to implement in Deluge multi user configuration. I see it is so. Each user has it is own account (pair of login and password and commit directory). Each user must see only his own downloads. Administrator must see downloads of all users. Also administrator should have possibility to manage all downloads of each user. After download of finished it must be committed to the folder of owner of this download. In future if you like this idea, we can group users. It is very intresting implementation for ISPs.

It would be great if a user could designate a torrent as "public" or "private". Or perhaps being able to create user groups and assign access of torrents to groups.

Use Case: A household has a house fileserver/torrentbox. Individual users may download something which would be of interest to all in the home. They therefore designate that torrent as "public" so that others can see that it is already downloaded or underway. This prevents concurrent or download of duplicate. Later a user finds something only he wishes to be viewable... he designates that as "private" and only they will be able to see it is underway or downloaded.

I am agree with gbear14275. That is very good idea, because i am really tired to remove duplicate downloads in mldonkey ( which support multiuser configuration ).

This is a very good idea. With functionality not dissimilar to azureus+azsmrc or torrentflux without the bloat and java.

I have been waiting for this for a long time for my home seedbox which serves different members of my family.

Anybody can tell is this feature will be implemented?

Milestone: Future1.4.0

This is possible on the GTK UI with the current git master. It even allows not storing username/password on the connections manager, it will be asked when trying to connect.

Leaving ticket open until this is also supported on the webui and on the console ui.

Re-assigned to remind me to implement this :-)

Would love to see this implemented as well.

Would also enjoy being able to bind a individual ip to a user. But not needed.

Hi all. This is my first post. I moved to Deluge from uTorrent a couple of months ago.

I'm adding a "me too!"

This would be the perfect feature for my household with several people currently downloading private and shared torrents to separate machines. With a multi-user system I could run just the one server through the VPN to keep much better control and increase speed to other traffic.

What's the general gauge of interest in this feature? Is there any work progressing?

Hey,

This feature request was created 5 years ago and is due for version 2.0.x This still in the pipeline or just a pipe dream?

comment:11 by Calum, 10 years ago

Just to be clear there is multiuser support in the development core and gtkui, this ticket is still open (as mentioned) because webui support is still required.

comment:12 by Xander, 10 years ago

Ah cool, i shall have a look for it in the documentation.
