#1879 new feature-request
Option to add suffix to incomplete files
Reported by: | km | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | minor | Milestone: | Future |
Component: | Core | Version: | |
Keywords: | Cc: | rick3162@… |
Description
When files are downloaded, the media centers scanning the folders do not determine whether or not the files are finished or not. If the non-finished files are extended with a file extension unknown for the media center, this problem will disappear.
E.g. original file name south.park.s01e01.avi While downloading: south.park.s01e01.avi.!deluge Immediately upon completion: south.park.s01e01.avi

thank you for the comment.
the problem with move on completed is for material that not easily maps to a general destination folder. For example tv serie episodes you want to categorize into subfolders. If all tv series are located into a general folder called "tv", move on completed is perfectly fine, however this is rarely the case. A more realistic structure is something like tv/South.Park/Season?.01/south.park.s01e01.avi which is quite impractical when using simple move-on-completed rules.

I created another ticket that if resolved will solve the problem in a different way, perhaps more easy to implement.

This feature is exactly what I wanted. It's kinda hard to know which files are incomplete or not, when you download an archive torrent with tons of zip files.

I'm sorry to see, that the milestone was changed to "Future". Still don't want to implement this feature? Or is it impossible or just too minor priority?

The workaround is to use the Move on Completed option
