What answer to the above question is named after a person?:

Hi Purina, this is anti-spam protection for the forum. Please use the search engine to find more info about the issue. For example, one of the search results that can give you some clues about what the answer is: CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION

Closing this ticket since this is not an issue tracker for the Deluge forum, but for the Deluge software itself. If you want support with registration, you can also try to join the IRC channel of the Deluge Team on freenode.

I'm right there with you. I've searched confirmation of registration and the only result that comes up is this post. This is awful. Its like a riddle that makes perfect sense once you know how it works, but for those who aren't in on the joke its just giberish.

In the forum link you provide someone says we have to check out the Deluge About page. Great. WHAT About Page?? The only place I can even find the word About in any stand alone context is the Home page where its a header, describing Deluge as "a fully-featured cross-platform BitTorrent? client."

There's only ONE question on the entire registration page--What is the main operating system or distribution you are running Deluge on?

The "spam protection" question is: What answer to the above question is named after a person?"

It makes absolutely, completely, no sense.

in the same boat guys...i don't mind a brain teaser, but this is kinda ridiculous. i am having issues upgrading to 2.0 and i can't get any support because of the "spam-protection" question...can't you guys just use a captcha?

i love deluge and have used it for years. we finally get a new stable version, that brings deluge up to snuff on several items, and i can't get basic support from the official site. this may be the last straw and i'm gonna have to move on to some other torrent software, if i can't even login to the dang forum.

I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer to this.

I feel less of a person as I can't register on the forums.

This question is quite the UX nightmare.

There is an entire blog dedicated to the above answer: https://zordekai.blogspot.com/2019/08/deluge-form-riddle-what-answer-to-above.html

Even worse, I encountered it when trying to login in to an account on the login page, "You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below. Username: Password: What answer to the above question is named after a person?:"

You CANNOT use a CAPTCHA that requires knowledge of page A, to protect page B.

This is utter nonsense and I question any software designed by a team with such a callous attitude.

Although I registered and posted this intending to help others register, I urge anyone reading to please reconsider if you want to support such garbage.
